  1. Just wonder is there any free solftware to backup harddrives, like Ghost etc.

    1: Western digital customers can use western digitals drive backup utility which if I recall is a cut down version of acronis backup.

    2: Paragon has "home user" version for free ... just make sure you sellect the right version for os.

    3: Macurium reflect free, includes ability to mount backup images for file retrieval.

  5. I'd say go with Paragon. Unless something has changed the WD and Seagate software is a hacked down version of Acronis, which isn't that great now days. Macrium does a good job of backing up but the default rescue CD tends to have issues. It's great if you put the time into making a WinPE type CD to boot it from though.
