First, I will say I'm slightly confused here. I have several clips in .MTS format that I want to use for some rotoscoping, but before I can do that, I need to convert them to .AVI. VLC says they're 60 (59.940059) FPS, but when I load them into VDub, it says they're 30 FPS. No matter what I convert them to in VDub, the end result is a very jittery video, that stutters and eventually freezes. I've tried using the frame rate conversion in Vdub, but that doesn't seem to do the trick.

All I want to do is convert these clips into a usable file with AS LITTLE quality loss as possible. I assume raw AVI would yield best results. I'm not 100% set on raw, but I don't want it to be too overly compressed either.

Anybody care to lend a hand here?

    Many, many thanks in advance.

  2. what application are you rotoscoping in?

what format are your mts files? eg. 1080i60 ? 720p60?

what camera did you shoot with and what record mode?

if you use mediainfo(view=>text) and copy & paste the info it will help a bit
