    hey Guys,

recently I purchased a Philips BDP 3000 - however, I'm unable to play any Region A BD's on the same. Is there a way we can make this player a region free player or atleast allow it to play a Region A title.

    Appreciate your response

    Thanks

  2. This works for Philips BDP 3000 as it worked for Philips BDP 2700/05

    1. Make sure there is no disc in the tray when you switch on.
    2. Press "home" key on remote control.
    3. Enter number "1389310".
    4. Switch off. Wait a few seconds and then switch on...now region free.

So far i only tested region 1 DVDs and it works.

HellFreddy's suggestion, if it works for your player, will only make it region free for DVDs. I know of no code that will enable any Philips BD player to play BluRay discs from other regions.

HellFreddy's tip is only for DVD part. I suspect that, in fact, in areas outside North America, that Philips player may be DVD region-free out of the box.
As for the blu-ray portion, it remains gratingly unchangeable. Tough.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".

  6. BDP3000 can be made region free for BD by flashing it with a Medion P71006 firmware. You will need a Logitech Harmony remote because the Philips remote will not work after flashing. Details here.
