If I record a sporting event myself to DVD-R on my set-top DVD recorder and can capture a high quality audio stream (AIFF) in a different language is there a way to add that second audio commentary to the DVD?

I should add that I know how to demux, edit audio, and mux the files (after converting my AIFF to AC3), but I don't know if I can add a second audio track and how I would do that if it is possible. Also, if it is possible would I use a tool like MyDVDEdit to identify a primary (English) audio track and a secondary audio track (usually Spanish but sometimes French, Italian, German, or Portugese)? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

with DVD Studio Pro, and MpegStreamclip, you could do the following:

    1. Demux the assets from the DVD to its elementary streams, m2v and aiff, using MpegStreamclip.

    2. Launch DVD Studio Pro, and add the assets to a new build,
m2v to a video track, the aiff to the secondary track.

    3. add the new aiff to a secondary audio track.

    4. build a simple menu that would run the selected audio when a menu button link is selected,
for instance, selecting Play with Audio Commentary would play the video track with
the second audio track. A different menu button would play the video
    with the normal audio track.

    5. author the DVD to disc.
