I'm using a Sony VX2100 to Live stream events. I really don't need to tape the event, but if I don't, the cam will go to sleep after a few minutes. If I do use a tape and record the event, I have to shut down the encoder (Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder) while I switch out the tape.
Running the cam with no tape in it works but it is throwing in some of the build in scene transitions every so often. So the input looks just fine.. but randomly the output will show these scene transitions (part of built in editing capabilites of the cam).
So what's the best way to stream Live events without recording to tape with the VX2100?
    Best wishes,

we used to have some canon gl1's that had a problem like that. the trick we used was to put a tape in the transport but left the cover open. don't know if it will work on a vx2100 though....
