I was told that playing HD video from my PC to my old 36" SD TV will damage it.
But I have played 720 and 1080 captures for the past month and they look great. Is this a bad idea?
I have yet to try any Blu-Ray since I can't. But HD x264 stuff works fine.

S-Video is SD resolution analog 480i. The HD playback is downsized in your display card.

If your 36" TV had RGB, VGA or analog component inputs, you could potentially damage it by feeding HD scan rates.
