I've tried a few apps to do a genuine save of videos online.
But some videos seems seem so ebmedded and hard to download, that I've given up.
I know where are some video screenshot apps, but they are always pricey and the videos tend to me quite large in size.

    Any ideas? thanks!

  2. StreamTransport can download almost all online videos. Even encrypted RTMPE sources.

VirtualDub is free and has the ability to capture from the screen.

  4. StreamTransport had no problems downloading from that site. But that site is easy. Even Firefox with its Download Helper plugin can download from there.

  5. Option + Command + A in Safari to open up activity window. Locate the the video you are viewing and Option + Double Click video playing (3MB of 22MB for instance). Once you do that you'll find it in /Downloads folder usually as an .mp4 video file once it finishes downloading.

Adding a screenshot to more clearly illustrate it.

In Safari's Window menu is an option for Activity, which shows all elements (html, css, images, multimedia) from currently open webpages. Find it there. The expected larger file size should help identify the video faster: look for "MB" instead of "KB".

  9. You have to start playing the Video and then download it. Guess I should have mentioned that. edit: (Locate the the video you are viewing) I did mention it "you are viewing". Anyway hide all the other windows by collapsing them by clicking on the down arrow sign in the Activity Window in Safari. It will move sometimes as it refreshes frequently but if I am able to screenshot it quick enough with it highlighted you should be able to quickly OPTION + double click it.

Alternatively, select the line with the file you want, copy that (Cmd-C), bring the Download window to the front, paste (Cmd-V); and the download begins.

    J,
I don't know what that means, but someone suggested I download VLC and Perian to get sound and now I'm getting sound although I don't understand why.
