Some days ago I had to re-encode an mov-file at work and didn't know how. I still don't know what to do with that issue and even I still didn't find any editing software to do what I was instructed to do.
Is there any trick in converting such painful videoformats? The same problem concerning flv-, mpeg- and mp4-videos. What will be the first step to do to make them a running video in the end?
I hope my dilettante English is good enough to understand what my problem is.
I am totally fresh to this community, so I hope it we'll have some great video coorperations.

You can try mp4camtoavi. And the avi might be easier to edit in some editors.
