Hi,
I'm trying to convert a mkv file to a dvd but I want the audio to stay surround.
All the converters I tried made it in to 2.1 sound.
Its a .264 file... I allready demuxed the mkv to 3 files .264 .dts and .sup(subtitles arent needed).
Can anyone help me?
I'm trying AVStoDVD atm but not sure it this works..
Oh now I see similair threads.. https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/286449-DVD-to-MKV-while-keeping-DTS-and-AC3
Trying https://www.videohelp.com/tools/AutoMKV
I did use the search but this didnt come up.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

AVStoDVD should work if the box marked Keep DVD compliant Audio is ticked, except if the DTS audio comes from a BluRay DTS HD sound track. This apparently has some issues at the moment, but will be fixed in a future release.
That said, depending on the film, there may be only 2.1 audio, even in a DTS track. The Criterion release of Sanjuro has DTS audio that is 2.1. MediaInfo can confirm this.
For DVD I would suggest converting the DTS to AC3 448 kbps if only to get more space for the video, unless you are converting fopr dual layer.Read my blog here.

I tried avstodvd but it came out without audio .

It could be exactly what guns1inger was saying: a "problematic" DTS track may lead to error like yours (track is demuxed, probably with errors, but MuxMan, the authoring software, does not accept it).
Two possibilities: download latest AVStoDVD 2.3.0 Alpha (which has a better control on DTS tracks) or force AVStoDVD to re-encode it to AC3 (which is what new Alpha does if it gets errors during DTS demuxing step).
