  1. hi people this is my first post on here as im new

    my problem is that i have a hd lcd tv the make is (murphy)
    and im try to get my sorround system to play the sound coming from my xbox360

    the connections on my surround are...a red and white l/r audio cables

    i have bought a switch box for my tv and switvhed it to output and plugged the 2 cables into it but the sound still plays from the tv
    and i could of simply connected the 3.5mm jack straight into my tv but there isnt a hole for it
    i want to continue using my hd cable also

    Describe or illustrate exactly how you are set up.

    It sounds like you have the HDMI connected directly to the television. If so, that is the sound output also.

    It also seems that you do not have an HDMI pass-thru on your surround amp.

    Depending on your 360 and amp, you may be able to connect through the S/PDIF cable.

    I haven't hooked up a 360 in years, so I'm not sure of the menu settings and configuring output.

  3. yes my hdmi from the xbox is connceted to my tv directly

    ive now fix it
    thanks anyway though..

    i found a great tutorial out of luck
    its for people who want to use a surround system with their xbox360 but have no 3.55mm on there tv.


    so what i did was as shown on the this link here

    then plugged the red and white from my surround into the scart
    so i can use hdmi as video and scart as sound its working perfectly
