I would like to backup my dvds Movie only to dual layer disk. The reson for backing up to dual layer would be to avoid burning to outside edge of disk where I seem to get most of my dropouts. Chosing to burn movie only should fix the problem. Could some one suggest the best and cheapest software for the task?

    Regards freewave

What I do is decrypt the DVD (Using AnyDVD HD) then use the freeware DVD Shrink, main movie only, no compression, Reauthor, burn to only Verbatim DL disc with Imgburn. You can also use a freeware decyrpter like DVDFab.

Most main movies will fit. Some may need compression.

  4. I use DVDFabDecrypter in Main Movie and burn with ImgBurn in Build Mode.
BTW: either way you need to select DVD-9 in Preferences.

Actually that's one of the cooler things about this forum, the auto-links. Super, I say. Okay they can get in the way once in a while...
