    Hi!

I've exported some files from Final Cut Express with Apple Intermediate Codec. The original footage is shot on HDV.

I wanted to batch convert them to h.264, but I get huge quality problems. All the edges get very blocky and black turns grey. I had the same problem with FFMPEG.
But when I tried exporting straight from Final Cut Express with the same options and had no problems.

Anyone have a solution? I have to do a lot of batch conversion, so I would be nice to find a solution.

Here's my settings and screen caps of the problem.

Is your source interlaced? If not choose deselect Interlaced scaling. But I don't think that is the problem. Maybe try another x264 frontend like handbrake and see how it looks.
