Hello fellow enthusiasts! I'm hoping someone can suggest something to address my query. I capture video using my Pinnacle Studio 500 USB device. This came with Studio 10. If I recall it was called "Studio In A Box" (?) I am using Studio 12 to capture. Here's my problem: I am wanting the ability to set a time for the app to begin capturing just as time shifting is an option in some capture cards and software. I also have Nero 9. This DOES allow time shift recording....but does not like the Pinnacle USB device and simply won't work with it. I've contacted Pinnacle about this but basically got a "non answer".

Sooooo.....I tried fooling with some stuff like Chris TV. Again, the Pinnacle Studio 500 USB does not play well with others. Then I had a revelation. If I could find the process name for the actual capture, I could set this as a scheduled event in Windows. No such luck. When Studio 12 is open, and you choose the capture option, there IS no specific process that shows up in Task Manager or Process Explorer.

There have been only 2 instances where I actually got the app to capture on a schedule. 1) Using Easy Macro Recorder to actually click the CAPTURE button (this only worked once). 2) It actually worked one time with Nero...never again.

Any ideas? Please do not simply suggest buying another product.

The problem is "the Pinnacle Studio 500 USB does not play well with others".

I've used Windows task scheduler and other script programs in the past to start capture programs to a clock but find you are always fighting screen saver and Windows power settings so results are unpredictable. I've moved on to PVR programs.
