    I have a few dvds I made of vhs tapes. I want to take a few clips out and send them to family and friends. I know that these dvd files need to be converted to a format( avi mpeg) in order to edit them. I need a very simple tool to do this . I have tried 3 freeware programs none seem to work. Any suggestions? I am using windows7

    Open the dvd vob file with mpg2cut, set start and stop, save as mpg. Upload it directly to youtube or convert the mpg to small avi with WinFF.
