Every time I try to play a video on YouTube, I get an error message that either JavaScript is turned off or I need to install the latest version of Flash. Neither is the case. I have the latest updates for both. Am I misssing something else?

This error appears some times you use some AnonymousWebSurfing web site.
You must Uncheck the Remove Scripts Items on these sites.
