What I understand it is very easy to stream webcam from linux with VLC

for some years ago I did try streaming with movie to another VLC and it works but now I like to stream to a page
The problem is that most of the guide I have found use a old VLC and the new one is a little diffrent so I have never
    get it to work.
I can play local the webcam but that all.

    Stream to a page?

Are you behind a router? Then you need to configure it to forward the data. http://portforward.com/

You need a flash server application also. I don't know anything for linux. I have just used wowza in windows with vlc and it works fine, see http://www.wowzamedia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1350 .

Are you following the VLC wizard and outputting asf with wmv(see http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic....221466#p221466 ) ? Then embed http://wiki.videolan.org/Simple_Stream_VLC_to_Website
