    What should I use to get a good quality wmv (hd and 5.1 sound) from an mkv file? Intend to watch it on an Xbox via WMC

    Or if you want to convert use hdconverttox. Or try stream the mkv directly with ps3 media server to your xbox 360.

    Hello Baldrick,

    I tested PS3MS but my WHS is too slow to keep up with streaming, and I would like to have skipping/resume anyways.

    Actually I got pretty good results converting to MP4 with MeGUI, with hardsubs and skipping/resume, but only stereo is supported.

    I will try hdconverttox as you suggested.

    Maybe DVDFab will also work?

    handbrake is nice, but don't support wmv or hardsubs yet.

    I'm using avisynth to hardsub the mkv, then I'll change the container to wtv with todvrms. Will report back if this strategy gives me a good result on the xbox.
