I been having trouble uploading a video to YouTube.
I tried one that was either a avi OR mpg4 file with h.264. (640x480)
YouTube converted it so it looked terrible.
Then I tried uploading a wmv file from Windows Movie Maker. (640x480.)
It looked great except for some colors. Not YouTube's fault.
I am confused. So how do I upload a video file so it looks good in YouTube ?
What is the best video converters to use.
What are the best settings to use ?

Hi guys!
maybe this will help....
its called Free Youtube Uploader....
Lets you convert any videos to YouTube friendly video format
with optimal size and quality and uploads them to your YouTube account!
have a look --> http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Uploader.htm
Hope this helps! -
did you even look at that program? all it does is upload to yt, no conversions.
for the best looking videos, youtube wants them in mp4 format with aac or mp3 audio. the larger and higher bitrate the better.
i'm currently using 1920x1080 30p at a bitrate of 10mbps(10,000kbps) to get the best quality on youtube. the files are huge but as long as they are under 2 gb it doesn't matter. the downside is it takes close to 24 hours for youtube to finish processing them and getting all versions online.--

Been doing some research.
Seems to have something to do with deinterlacing.
I thing the video is interlaced or at least YouTube thinks it is, and tries to deinterlace it.
Resulting in a mess. -
No, they don't deinterlace it. What they do is resize it, and in the process the video gets shot all to hell. It's your responsibility to make it progressive before uploading.
-
Yes they do resize it. I uploaded a video at 640x480 and played it back.
It looked like 640x480 and had a 480 tab. It played back at 640x480, but looked terrible.
I reproduced the effect in virtualdubmod but delacing the video.
For some reason, TubeTube thinks the video is interlaced.
