  1. Hi there,

    Is it possible to play asx files on my pc without needing access to the internet ?

    Any help would be appreciated !

  2. You can't.

    The asx file is a url link to the video asset on a remote server; i.e. it's not the actual video.

    You have to either download the actual video to your local computer, or screen capture it to your local computer to play offline

    The asx is usually just a pointer to an url for web streaming. So no.

    Instead try download the content from the asx using for example open it in VLC and use the record button. If it wont work you probably need something like wm recorder, tunebite, replay media catcher or wm capture.

  4. Thanks, not sure if its copyright or not tho, would the host know if i was trying to capture it ?

  5. Host server can only tell if you are playing it; it cant differentiate if you are recording it too

  6. Open the ASX file with Notepad. You'll see the plain text links.
