  1. If I type cmd in RUN, the command prompt box pops up. So how do I find the CMD icon in the start menu so I can right click and run as admin? The search is not finding it.

Just make a new shortcut - the original location should be:

    Code:
    %SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe
The other way is just in the RUN command box, type

    RUNAS /USER:administrator cmd.exe

It's possible that if you're not running an Administrator account, certain things don't show up in the Start menu, like the Command Prompt. Forgot about that possibility... but I'm not completely sure, since I usually only work with Admin accounts on XP and Vista.
