I do a good amount of home video authoring creating simulated news shows and video events for children. I'm going to be rebuilding another PC and have really tought about not using PE any longer unless it's the best for the "pro-sumer level". I know that there are so many similar level DVD authoring apps out there but I'm not sure which are good to go with.

Premiere El is okay; it's just a little bulky and tends to run slow. There's a newer version out and I haven't been all that impressed with it.

    Any suggestions?

Here;s a clip of one of my largest productions on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjOStf9Ij5s

I just bought a Vixia HD21 (Canon) and cant wait to start playing with the video from it.

Build a fast new machine since you're going to be editing AVCHD files.

Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Pro Pack is good. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiopp

Also, buy NeoScene to make your editing faster. Cheapest place to buy: http://alturl.com/tdhp
