My biggest bugbear with the excellent TMPGencXpress 4.7.x is lack of autocropping in picture crop filter. Working out figures in cropping is difficult. AutoGK, Handbrake etc all do it auto as do most programs, so why not here with the "world's best encoder?"

I tend to use AutoMen to get autocrop figures, but are there any good freeware opensource tools out there(video editors) where you can enter your avi as source, resize apect and get autocropping too? Thanks.

    That's a joke, right?

You can do it the same way as AutoGK, by using the AviSynth AutoCrop filter. Doesn't cost a dime:

Doing it manually is pretty easy. Make the D2V, open it in Gordian Knot, and do the crop and resize with the video as a guide.
