AC3 Audio Out Of Sync In MKV

I have a movie that has the audio in sync the whole movie until the last 10-15 minutes of the movie and then it goes about a second out of sync. I have done some searching and all the ways i found to fix out of sync ac3 audio only works if the whole movie is out of sync, not just one part. Does anyone know the best way to fix the ac3 sync delay at the end of the movie? Thanks in advance!

Find the point at which the audio goes out of sync, split the file into two parts at this point and adjust the audio in the second part until it is in sync. Then rejoin the two parts.

The tools you use to do this will depend on the format of your original file; for avi files I recommend Virtualdub.
