How do I dub the sound on a VHS tape but keep the picture?

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know how I dub the sound on a VHS tape but keep the picture? Ie not tape over the VHS tape with picture and sound but just the sound so that the picture etc is still there but no sound on it?

You need a VHS recorder that can do just audio dubbing. Some higher end recorders can do this, however you will most likely have to search the second hand market for them. It mat be simpler to transfer the video to a digital format (i.e. capture it) and add the new audio, and finally, if necessary, pout it back to tape (or just produce a DVD of it)
