    I've been trying for several weeks to convert (via MeGUI) this 1080i/29.97-captured TS file (well, 3 parts actually) I've tried to IVTC to 1280/720/24fps, or leave it as 29.97 and go to 1280 from there, but regardless of how I go about it, I still seem to get jerky, inconsistant motion. I even looked into the specifics of the cameras used for it (Arriflex D-20), which seemed to indicate that the end result could be native to film OR video.

    Has anyone else dealt with this, and/or was able to get a working conversion?

  2. Was this a TV cap ?

    I think some networks do time shifting or drop frames and other sneaky tricks to squeeze more commercial time in

    Maybe post a sample and someone will have a look at it

    Yes, a transport stream rip from Universal HD...

    Here's a short clip, which has pretty much been the absolute indicator whether I have the right script or not. What I've also found is that, even after I'd used on that APPEARED to work, I'd run it on the whole show, and... it wouldn't work on the whole show.

    So, anyone had a look, and/or is able to offer a suggestion? The problem may be related to the fact that we know the camera model used in filming, but dont know which format or mode it was set to output.

    Suggestions, anyone?

    Ripbot was able to successfully convert that test.ts into a mkv for me.

  7. It's normal 3:2 pulldown, bottom field first. There should be no problem with IVTC.

    In AviSynth:
    MPEG2Source("TEST.d2v")
    TFM()
    TDecimate()
    or
    MPEG2Source("TEST.d2v")
    SeparateFields()
    SelectEvery(10, 0,1, 2,3, 5,6, 8,9)
    Weave()
    Quick lowres Xvid AVI:
