Since we are buying a house we are updating ourselves to new tv and blu-ray player.
I'm good with a computer but I don't know much about home theater

Since we have a lot of movies I want to back most of them up on hard drives and I was hoping to buy a blu ray player that would support this via usb. I know most only support FAT rather than NFTS. Is there any that aren't FAT?

I'm looking for the most simple set up possible that my wife could use easily. I haven't bought anything yet, cause I want to make sure everything works together and well.

    Thanks for all your help!

Look into the WD TV Live multimedia player for this purpose . It's around $120, plus the cost of an HDMI cable. It'll play just about any format of file. You just attach an external USB hard drive or thumb drive to it and away it goes. It's quite good. The interface is easy.

Seagate also has a Media player. I have both the WD and Seagate players. I like the Seagate better. It has more features and just all around works better.
For the Seagate make sure it's the model with HDMI output. their earlier model did not have it and was therefore performance limited. Both the WD and Seagate are about the same price.

The Seagate model I have is the STCEA201-RK and it does have Internet Streaming. It was $ 120 (delivered) from Tiger Direct. It also has the capability of having one of the Special Seagate drives fitted into the device as a third location for removable storage. I didn't order my device with the hard drive included. As my external drives are USB/Esata drives, I couldn't see any reason to get a USB only drive.
