problem with cyberhome ch-dvr player/recorder

I have a cyberhome ch-dvr 1500 recorder/player. The dvd door won’t open, I can hear what sounds like a motor every time I try to open door, but it won’t open.

What should I do.

Try using a piece of masking tape, stick it to the door, and at the moment you hear the motor trying to open door, give it some help by pulling on the masking tape.

You may need to do this forever with this recorder, but it may get you a new lease on this machine for a year or so.
