I am very new to all of this, but I would like to be able to stream live video. Does anyone know of any good software to allow this? Price does not matter for now as we are currently only carrying out research. It must be able to run on either Windows or Linux (preferably Linux though).

If the software offers "direct to disc" recording functionality too, that would be great, as we want to be able to archive these videos for access in the future.

    Thanks in advance

I have been looking into using the Adobe Flash media Server - what are people's opinions of this - does anyone have any experience using it?
