Hey. I'm new to this forum, and I need to ask a question. I want to be able to record things on my television while playing them. Most capture cards I see force you to play on your computer, is there any that don't require this? I also want to know a good Mic/Headset to use to commentate the video. Example, I am trying to record MW2 on my Xbox 360, and I want to commentate on the matches, what's a good, high quality mic to do so? And one last thing, what is a good program to edit this audio in? I'd prefer if I can like...watch the video AND put the audio commentary in at the same time, as it would help me lots more. Any and all help is appreciated!
Love~

Are you looking for high definition or will all this be done with the XBox360 running composite or S-Video out?
What is your TV model? What connections does it have?
Is your computer located close to the TV?
Your listed computer is weak for high definition. What is the current display card and what motherboard expansion slots are available?

I have about 200$, but I don't want to spend that much
It doesn't have to record in HD, I just want to be able to play my xBox in HD, but it records in SD. My tv...uhh...I'm not good with hardware >,<
It's by toshiba...around...55-60 inches maybe...and my xbox is hooked up to the back of the tv using HDMI cords. My pc is, literally, 2 and a half feet away from the xbox. I don't know the motherboard/display card for my PC.
So...yeah...I think. -
You could use this device:

It includes VideoStudio but I recommend Audacity for basic audio editing.
Here's a good headset/microphone:

That uses most of your $200.
Get your component cables at Monoprice.com. ~$10

Then you will beg borrow a mic for voice over.
If you can spare ~$40 or Movirgeek's suggestion.

Then you will need to use free software choices for basic cuts editing and voice over. Your computer may play the resulting file. The XBOX360 will.
I'll let others suggest software while I think about it. The Arcsoft TME software that comes with the HD-PVR may be enough. I haven't used it.

Moviegeek's solution would require running the XBox in standard def
