    Hi everyone,

I have files around 20GB on my harddrive. I want to convert these m2ts files to mp4 so I can upload these
mp4 files to youtube. The type of these m2ts files is called in windows type AVCHD-video.
There are m2ts files that are 4.5 GB and some are 150 kb or so.
But there is one big problem. If I play the m2ts files with VLC media player of windows media player then there's no sound. People were saying that I must install a sound plugin on my PC.
After converting such to such as mp4/H264 files there was still no sound.
To be sure I uploaded the converted file about 100 MB to youtube. Even on youtube there was no sound.
I tried many converting programs such as: Xilisoft Blu Ray Ripper 5.2.1.1126, Wondershare Video Converter Platinum v 4.3.1.0, AVS Video Converter 6.2.3.320. But there was still no sound!
So is there a problem with these m2ts files. Are there any watermarks on it?
The map where the m2ts files are finded is called 'STREAM'. Maybe the sound files are missing?
But I think the sound is really in the m2ts files itself?

    Please help!

Here it is I see: there is also a stereo channel. Now I can hear the sound if I switch between the 2 sound channels in VLC media player. But how I must convert the file to hear the sound after converting too? With which program and which best settings?

    Thanks by advance

Delete the LPCM audio track, and down convert the DTS-HD to DTS in TsMuxer and your problem is solved

    Hi ocgw,

Now I can play the m2ts files in VLC with sound. But when I try to convert the m2ts files with Wondershare Video Converter Platinum then there's still no sound. How Could it be?
I think maybe Wondershare Video Converter Platinum can't convert the DTS to stereo.
The only encoder for the audio I can choose in Wondershare Video Converter Platinum is 'AAC'.
Do you know which program is the best for convert besides the video also the audio?

My apologies. I converted the m2ts files to H264 .mp4 with format factory 2.20
I used AAC encoder and with this application I could choose between 2 stereo/4 stereo/1 mono/6 stereo 5.1.
I chose for the 2 stereo channel and after converting there was sound.
Just unbelievable! Freeware programs can be much better than programs you must buy!
    Thanks for helping!
