Would someone know how to decipher garbled subtitle texts? I've found several at AllSubs.org with the following message: "Please note that due to encoding the texts may look garbled. If you believe this is the right subtitle please type in the 3 digit and letter code at the bottom." How would I go about decoding the text? And how on earth does one know if the texts are right when the preview says, for example, "00:01:39,579 --> 00:01:42,414
Ãû âûñòóïèòå âìåñòå ñ DyBre à à ýòîé ñöåà å."
I would greatly appreciate any help with this mystifying problem. This is the first time I've posted a question to this forum although not the first time I've used it and found answers to my problems, for which many thanks!

What that's most likely referring to is the encoding necessary to display text in other languages (for example, Japanese). Most language encoding uses extended ASCII/double-bit characters or Unicode, and will be displayed properly if you have the system set to display those languages.
If you're just looking for English subtitles, you don't need to worry about that. Just pick the subtitle choices that show English dialogue, of course.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
That's what I would normally have thought but AllSubs (or the uploader) says that the subtitles are in English. They obviously made a mistake. I did post a question on their site but to no avail. Thanks for your speedy reply though.
