Hey i'm trying to record xbox 360 gameplay using a Kworld Dvd Maker 2, i currently have power director 6 installed and it works fine except from it wont let me record in Mpeg4, only avi, if i record in Avi it has a really huge file size and the ound is out of sync. is there a fix for this because other people can record in Mpeg 4....?

powerdirector will capture in mpeg-2. switch the settings to mpeg-2 and dvd high quality. you should get 720x576 with ac-3 audio. it wil be in sync and not too large.

did you install the drivers and software that came with the kworld? i have powerdirector v8 and it works fine, but i think v6 used to work also.

The specs for the KWorld thing are very vague and to me it appears to never say that it records in MPEG4 format.

Right-to-disc enables direct recording of DV content to DVD disc via CyberLink PowerProducer 4.

Edit the Video in MPEG 4/2/1 Format (MPEG4 is compatible with DivX or Microsoft MPEG4) (Notes: you have to download the MPEG codec by yourself.)

Very vague as well. That still says nothing about "recording to Divx/MPEG4".

can you list the programs which are compatible with Kworld Dvd maker 2? and which ones would you recomend i wouldnt mind recording in avi if the files where smaller and the sound was in sync, if someone could tell me the solution to getting in sync

what the directions are referring to is saving the original file first. then editing it in powerdirector and re-rendering as mpeg-4.

if you have ffdshow installed you should be able to select it in the avi profile setup and use any codec you have installed. the kworld dvd maker 1 only worked correctly and made in sync videos with mpeg-2 though.

wouldnt that mean i would have to record in avi which is really laggy and the sound is out of sync then converting it which would make it worse?

yes. it would only convert what you have already captured to mp4. if the original is out of sync so would the output.

you need to find out why it won't capture in mpeg-2. try hooking up a vcr and see if it will work in mpeg-2 with that.

i think the dvd makers can only capture normal 720x480/576 mpeg-2 or maybe 640x480 avi.

Since I believe the majority of video games are NTSC format....and you are in PAL format territory....you may be in for a world of hurt.

first i'd re-install the driver. somehow i think it isn't identifying the device properly. it should say what kworld product it is not generic usb device.

then it's hard to know what settings would be ok without seeing them. maybe a screenshot?

PAL systems can "view" anything....but what comes out of the machines is most likely a hybrid/quasi signal....like normal DVD players over here.
