Can somebody tell me, if Philips BDP3000 can play mouvies with subtitles from usb and hard drive

My self ask my self answer

The fact that a USB memory stick must be bought to get the BDP3000 to connect is a shame, doubly so because the player can't read any kind of digital media files via USB. It could do with an extra port on the front panel, especially with a lot of us now watching video and playing MP3 music through our home cinema systems.

USB attached devices often need to be in FAT32 format, but some BluRay players do support NTFS. You'll need to test. The review you linked to may have only tried NTFS format devices. Generally only a few subtitle formats are supported for Divx. SRT is always supported. Some players support IDX/SUB and there may be one or two other formats that also work.

Please note that the review says that HD Divx is NOT supported. Any Divx files above 720x576 probably won't play at all. My opinion on reading the review is that there are better BluRay players available. This one seems to be pretty bad. I NEVER recommend Samsung DVD or BluRay players, but they would seem to be better than this model from Philips.
