Hello. Does someone know how to fix a choppy / laggy video? It's not choppy because of slow hardware, rather because of faulty encoding / editing. Sometimes it just plays like with a framerate of 3 FPS. Unfortunately I don't have a chance to get the original source video. So, maybe someone knows a trick or a tool to fix the video?
Here are some specs of the mentioned file:
Video: XVID / Avi, 672x504, 23.976023 FPS
Audio: MPGA, Stereo, 48000 Hz, 128 kb/s (only the videostream is choppy)
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Start with a full Tree view from mediainfo of the file.
Next, try loading it into avi demux and see if you get any warnings. If it asks to rebuild anything, let it.
Next, try going through the lagging parts frame at a time in virtualdub (assuming it loads). Are all the frames there, or have some frames been duplicated ?Read my blog here.

3. - "Are all the frames there?" How can i check this?
- "or have some frames been duplicated?" In the lagging parts of the video, some frames look very similar, but they don't seem to be exact duplicates.
I'm afraid that the video seems to be an assembly of many different clips with differents formats cobbled together. Probably it's not worth the efforts. I just thought there is maybe a program which can "repair" it automatically. -
