Laptop replacement battery ?

Hey all

I need to replace a battery in a laptop, the original one only lasts for like 10 minutes when it is turned on.

This is the original battery for replacement,
4 cell - 2150 mAh

But i also found this one,
8 cell - 4800mAh

Now for a dollar more obviously i would want the higher mAh battery.

Even though it looks to be the same size in the photo, i am worried that because it has double the cells it may protrude further out from the bottom of the laptop.

Or do they use a smaller cell or is there room left over in the original battery case ?

Make certain of the model no. of the battery - and whether you can live with the size. Except for netbooks, laptop batteries typically do not protrude. Be certain to read the negative reviews and if/how the vendor responded. The 8 cell guy did have 3 in the past month, with no response.

The laptop is a Toshiba M35X.

And the battery is way old, many many years

And that is waaaaaaay more expensive on their site!!


And from that photo and my current batt. it looks to be the same size, nowhere for it to really protrude out the back.

Yeah, i think i am going to order that one off ebay.
The higher mAh batt is not an actual Toshiba, but i usually don't go for name brand anyways.

Actually, the first dude also has the higher mAh batts and they are original Toshiba...

Another Q, about how long should you allow a laptop battery to charge the first time before using it ?

Yep, the guy with the 100% feedback is also selling the new 8 cell higher mAh batt. that is an original toshiba oem.

I bought one from him just now, also has free priority mail.

Well i bought the original OEM toshiba batt.

And the friend who gave me this laptop, one of her duaghters laptop that was only about 3 months old, actually caught on fire and melted about 2 years ago.

I want to say it was a gateway but i'd have to ask her again to make sure, & it was not even plugged in, just sitting and running on a table, all stock the way it came new.
