I have a Philips 2.1 home theatre system (the hts6515 model), which can play avi files from USB. The system is supposed to display srt and idx/sub files as well.

Right now, there is this problem: It would stop displaying the idx/sub files after a few minutes. If I stop the video and play again, this time fast forwarding to the missing bit, then the sub would appear correctly. Then after 10 minutes or 50 minutes, depending on the occasion, the same problem happens again.

Could you pls guess what is the source of the problem?

You've tested this on more than one AVI file?

Check to see if your AVIs were encoded using GMC in Xvid/Divx. The docs say your model doesn't support it.

If it is happening to all of them, then you might need a firmware update for the player.
