Change of Region Code incorrectly set on DVD player

Guys sorry I hate being the newbie and have the dumb question but here goes. I copied a hack of this site to set my new DVD recorder an LG HB 954WA to all regions. I downloaded the file and did everything perfectly except read the instructions! I put the disk into the DVD player and saved region code "1" ie US etc however I meant to save "0" so I could use for all areas. I'm in Australia and its code 4. I tried to redo the disk twice including a fresh disk to reset the region but it now wont accept the disk with the hack on it and keep saying "check disk" like it needs to be in an American format.... Jesus what have I stuffed up now! Any help will be fantastic... John

okay, if you hacked the player with hacked firmware, my first suggestion is to try the disk you did the hack with again, sorry if you have tried this, as if it hacked the player to region 1 then my logic would be it will now hack it to region zero.

and download the original firmware and try to set it back to that and then re hack to region zero.

Just FYI, backups of dvd\s are always region free so that might help unless you are trying to play other than region 1 blu rays

Have you tried burning a file to a disc in the burner? Region coding will only kick in if you put a DVD from say the UK or Australia if in fact you have changed the RC to region 1 - it sounds like the original data disk with the patch is faulty or the firmware update you did simply failed and corrupted the firmware. I would look around for the o0fficial LG update file for region 4 and try to get it back to normal first. OF course if the firmware patch failed and corrupted the drive you are looking at finding repair software if it exists or a new drive.
