I'm a newbie & hope I am placing this in the right section.
I downloaded some movies from Graboid. I then use AVS Video Converter to convert & burn the movie to DVD.. when it finishes burning the DVD, it will play on my computer, yet won't play on my DVD player to my TV. I then experimented & copied this DVD (that won't play), with DVD Fab, & then the copy will play on my DVD player. All the ones I copy will play.
Am I not setting something properly in AVS ?? is there another better program I can use to do this, (convert & burn). ? I hate wasting 2 discs to get the movie to play..
    Thanks in advance..

Try dvdflick ... settings are relatively easy

Just set AVS to output to a folder or iso file rather than burning the disk, then you can run it through DVD Fab or DVD Shrink to make it DVD compliant before burning with ImgBurn.

AVStoDVD is very good and free, or if you are happy to pay, ConvertXtoDVD is virtually foolproof.

As midders said, Let AVS Video Converter create the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folder then use imbgurn to burn those 2 folders to DVD. I love AVSVC but I only trust imgburn for the burning part. As fas as settings in AVSVC it's pretty straight forward.

You click the big button on the top "To DVD" then load in your input files. then choose a profile.
then add your subtitle files if you have any.
If you want to resize or crop click on "advanced" then "aspect correction".
then click "menu" and choose a template and add chapters.
(note, you will not get a menu unless you make at least 1 chapter).
    then click "conver now".
If your project will not fit on the disk you will get a popup to span multiple disks or shrink to fit 1 disk (lower the bitrate).

Great thanks.. I did pay the $59 to get the legal version of AVS, & seems like a great program, & it seems that when it was a trial version, it did work well, & burn the DVD.. It has 3 NTSC settings, Normal, high, & excellent. which is the best to use ? I will try the methods you have suggested also..
    thanks for the responses..

Look at the time limits next to those 3 settings. The length of your source will determine which option you should choose. If your source is 30 minutes, go with the Excellent setting. if your source is 4 hours, go with the Normal.
