  1. Hello,

I have a Acer 2420 laptop, have to connect this laptop through its VGA port to an old Panasonic TV (2001 model) S-Video port. Purpose: parents need to watch some 10 DVD videos (family) on their TV as they are not comfortable watching on the Laptop display and its low level sound. I know DVD player is the best choice but I wish to use the existing hardware, if possible.

Is it correct way to do or any better way than this solution:

Step 1: Buy an USB 2.0 based PC2TV converter and plug it into the Laptop.
Step 2: using VGA cable, connect the Laptop VGA port and PC2TV converter
Step 3: using S-video cable, connect PC2TV converter and plug other end into the TV's S-Video port.

    Thanks,
    bulava
