    Hello-
I recently purchased a polaroid 160GB recorder because I needed the digital tuner and was happy with my old polaroid 2100.
I made the connections following the manual and used red, white and yellow cables for the connection. I am using an antenna for the input. Do I need component cables (red, green, blue) for this recorder to get color?
    thanks.

I had this happen to an old DVD player and the trick is that you have to change the video output on the DVD player side to go over composite video to get color. I'd advise you to use component instead as it is significantly higher quality than composite that you are using (your red and white cables are actually sending audio, not video, to the TV and only yellow is carrying the video). You do NOT have to buy expensive special component cables to connect component video to the TV. You can use any old cables you have lying around with the correct jacks on them. We've had some people post that you have to match impedance on the cables or some such thing for them to work properly, but I just grabbed 3 spare cables I had lying around with RCA connectors on them and used them for component connections and my results are great.
