samsung bd 1500 region code problem

hi ive followed alot of threads on making my player region free. my problem doesnt appear on these threads. this is how to do it;
1.open dvd door with no disc in in
2.close,after "no disc" disappears press repeat, then codes.


when i try to press repeat i get the red symbol with the line through it (like the no smoking sign) and it doesnt allow me to enter codes. i have a region 1 player,i live in the u.s. s/w :090416.01-111208bo-xaa. can someone help me?thanks in advance
