  1. I'm looking to get a new 1.5 terrabyte external hard drive, must have usb and e-sata connections, I'm curious what people here would recommend.

    Here's a couple that I'm looking at:

As for cost, 1.5GB SATA drives can be had under $100 if you shop and eSATA enclosures $40up.
Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

If you don't want to put together your own external drive, Fantom is another drive to look at that is fairly economical: http://store.micronet.com/externalharddrives.aspx

  4. I have been using 2 1TB WD My Book Home for more then a year and they are serving me quite well. They have both usb and eSata interface too.

My suggestion is to look at 2TB models too, which are now coming into their own and getting cheaper. After extensive comparisons, that's what I just recently bought, and got a 2TB USB Seagate FreeAgent model for $175 on eBay. I like the 5 year warranty on Seagate's. You'll pay quite a bit more if you require a faster connection than USB.
