converting avi H264 to mkv

Usually people are asking how to convert an mkv to avi but I got a movie that is H264 with an avi container. I was wondering how I can convert it to MKV so I can play it on my PS3 using mkv2vob

Try make a mkv with mkvmergegui, add the avi and make mkv. Then use mkv2vob.

You could also try make a mp4 from the avi using mp4muxer or yamb.

I tried using mkvmergegui but I can't load the avi. I'm really new to this so I might be doing it wrong but I have used before to convert some mkv to PS3 m2ts

I just tried yamb and I was able to extract the H264 video file. When I extracted the audio file it came out as .raw? How can it convert it to ac3 or whatever format so I can mux it to m2ts to play on my ps3?
