I got the BM Intensity Pro today and have been having audio issues. The sync is fine but the audio itself is quiet, fuzzy and distorted as though it is a ridiculously low bitrate. I'm using the capture software provided at the moment and a component input. After the first video with poor quality I tried recording another only to hear a high pitched noise instead of the previous problem.

The second video is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nszElpiigV0

Any help would be appreciated guys, the AV forum that I normally post on doesn't have anyone with this card so hopefully I'll have more luck here.

    Thanks,
    Lawrence

    PS Merry Christmas!

It's better to start your own topic if you aren't replying to the original poster. I've split your post off to a new topic.

    Thanks redwudz

I have an SD video of the poor audio quality now, this happened before my previous video. Hopefully someone will recognise what's wrong.

Well, about all I can provide is generalizations as I'm not familiar with the card. I would check the audio coming into the card to verify that's not the problem. Try feeding the same audio into your audio card instead, through the line in jack. (You may have to adjust the audio mixer levels) Also try a different source for the Blackmagic audio as an experiment.

If your input audio is clean and at the proper levels, and the impedance isn't mismatched, then maybe the card itself is defective.

I've been plugging the audio directly into my speakers whilst leaving the video going through the card in order to play with sound and that's worked fine so the Xbox output is working. I'll try using a different source although the noise happening even when there is no input may mean the card is bust I guess.

I've contacted BM but they won't get back to me until Tuesday at the earliest. Hopefully they'll quickly confirm that it's a damaged card and not have me doing everything they can think of.

Thanks again guys, I'll keep checking here in case anyone thinks of something.
