I currently use RCA cable from DVD player to TV.

There is a video setting in the setup. which is the best?

    interlace-YUV
    TV-RGB
    P-scan YPBPR
    PC-VGA
    S-video

    the default is S-video.
if possible, can you explain each of them briefly?

  2. None of those will make any difference with your composite connection.

    Exactly.

In order to step up quality you will need to at least use either component or vga since you have that option. Then you will be able to get progressive output assuming the tv has the input and supports it of course).

  4. An s-video cable will give an improvement over composite.
