I have a small 1 minute HD clip that was produced for a client of mine. It is currently a .mov file. I had planned to convert it to Flash video for use on the web, but I can't even get Quicktime Player 10 or 7 to play this video. I can with VLC. I only have iMovie, and it can't open it, nor can the Adobe Media converter
Quicktime's error sends me to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3523
Which suggest it is a Apple Intermediate Codec. And below is the video info "MediaInfo Mac" shows me.
I would go back to the company that shot the video but it took 3 months to get the clip I have.
So is there anything that can convert this into usable format, so I can play it with QT and I can finally convert it to Flash Video.

Try mpeg streamclip, avidemux or handbrake. And convert it to mp4 with h264 video and aac audio, it's supported by flash.

Edit - Sorry, my suggestion was wrong.

FourCC 'hdv2' means Apple HDV 1080i60. You need AppleHDVCodec component installed with Final Cut Pro. VideoSpec would have given you this info.

try this codec (it's a perian hacked codec) http://blog.lib.umn.edu/mcfa0086/discretecosine/PerianHDV.component.zip
you could display your HDV inside QuickTime BUT QuickTime is a pain with interlaced anamorphous stream (like your HDV ). Result should be mess up = mixed fields (but for a flash video with a little size, it should be OK)
bye
Edit: this codec seems not compatible with the new Perian1.2, so activate it only depending on your needs (personnally I use Diablotin to enble/disable quickTime codecs http://s.sudre.free.fr/Software/files/diablotin.dmg.gz)For DVD, iPad, HD, connected TV, … iMovie & FCPX? MovieConverter-Studio 3 (01/24/2015) - Handle your camcorder's videos? even in 60p or 60i? do a slow-motion? MovieCam.
