I was hoping there was an easy (cheap) way to watch MKV files on my HDTV. I think my TV has a USB slot, I would love to somehow just plug in a flash drive and watch it that way, but obviously there isn't any software playing the video. What do you think is the best solution? My laptop does not have an HDMI output and I don't have a PS3, yet..

Any suggestions/solutions would be awesome, thanks!

$100-120 or possibly a little more, depending on the model. But it is definitely your best solution. The Western Digital TV and TV Live players can do what you want.

BTW the WD TV Live is a lot faster then the older $90 model and has a Ethernet port. I found it also Fast forwarded better in my HD Captures.
