  1. I have a canon vixia hg20 and I just edited together a short clip (2:52) and the render time using premiere pro cs4 is about 25 minutes for the first pass

    I have it set to h.264 video 960x540 29.97 VBR 2pass target bitrate 10Mbps max bitrate 13Mbps.

I'm planning on making a lot of videos in the near future and would like to improve the rendering time if possible. My computer is a quadcore Q6600 2.4Ghz with 6gb of ram and an ATI 3850 gpu.

    Any advice?

You can render 1 pass at a fixed bit rate instead of 2 pass VBR. The file will be bigger but the creation time will be less.
