I seem to notice that videos load noticeably slower recently. Anyone else noticing this?

Nope. Maybe your internet connection? or area is congested with internet traffic? or Youtube servers can't keep up with bandwidth

Yeah, they've changed some things, I see all these messages at the bottom I never saw before, "waiting for y.timg" whatever, and I'm noticing videos hanging - the player applet comes up but the video doesn't come up.

I'm also noticing different things in Google groups, when you click on a link, now it does this "redirecting to.." intermediate page it never did before.

Google is evil, I think they're just waiting for the 7th sign or something before unleashing the forces of Hades.

Google keeps jacking with a lot of things lately, from Analytics to PR to AdWords, etc ....... maybe just coincident, however.

Some are much slower, but I don't go to You Tube enough to be able to tell you what the ones that are slow have in common with each other. Some videos are fine. Others will only play 20 or seconds at a time until they stop to wait for more video to buffer. I first started seeing this earlier in the month.

Facebook has had problems for weeks now on and off, but I know what their issue is. They don't have enough server horsepower to deal with the increase in users. Essentially it's because of incompetent planning. Google should be smarter than to allow that to happen, so I suspect that something else is likely the cause for the You Tube issues.
