    Hi, first post

    I have a panasonic NV-GS17 DV camera, I want to -

    capture a video,
overlay and synchronise a separate audio file,
output to mpeg2 or mpeg 4 file

i have tried to find a piece of software that will allow me to do all of these things but so far no luck. Can anyone recommend a programme that is fairly easy to use (i wouldnt know how to do any fancy editing even if i wanted to) and fulfils my three objectives??

    thanks for your time

Most advanced/nle video editor supports this. Adobe Premiere Elements, Vegas Movie Studio, Videostudio.

You can also use the free windows movie maker...but I guess it only can output wmv or dv then.
